Sing Dissolve, 2023.
Works produced while in residency at Skowhegan 2023. I bent wire into the shape of the word “sing” and wrapped it with flex neon. It hung in my studio until it fell to the ground. I grew so tired of seeing it - grew bored of the word, or the shape, of the meaning. It gathered spiderwebs and dust, I would kick it out of my way when I entered the studio. Finally I decided I would let myself follow the impulse to stretch it to distort it to reshape it. Sing Dissolve is a light sculpture manipulated sequentially performed for camera.
